Ruth Brennan Morrey, Ph.D. arrived to mental skills performance coaching through her academics and a wide range of elite athletic experiences. As a former Division I soccer player at University of Wisconsin-Madison, she never dreamed that she would later become a professional triathlete (2013-2018), an Ironman 70.3 champion, USAT Elite Duathlon National Champion, an amateur World Champion triathlete, and a two-time US Olympic Trials Marathoner (2000/2020-age 23 and 43!). She considers herself a life long athlete with a raging growth mindset. From her own journey, she uniquely understands common mental barriers and key mental facilitators to high athletic performance making it easy to connect with a wide range of teams, athletes, coaches, and parents.

Academically, Brennan Morrey has a master’s degree in Athletic Counseling/Sport Psychology (Springfield College), a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (UW-Madison), and a mindset coaching certification from Positive Performance Mindset Coach Academy. She also finds great joy and purpose in coaching youth athletes. She intentionally infuses character development and mindset skills into daily practices and loves watching her athletes reveal their confidence, fearlessness, and self-belief on the soccer pitch which translates into their everyday lives.

Brennan Morrey firmly believes that every athlete and sports team has a “true potential” that can be achieved through smart training, dreaming big enough, finding purpose, striving with consistency, regulating emotions, finding self-acceptance and resilience, and learning how to race/play within themselves. Brennan Morrey walks alongside athletes and teams in their process of athletic and human discovery to nurture a deep joy in sport and help them find their true sport potential.
